About the position

We are looking for an experienced and highly independent Senior Workday Analyst to join our IT team. The ideal candidate is an analytical-minded self-starter eager to dive right in and make an immediate impact. The Senior Workday Analyst is responsible for analysis and delivery of key functionality and enhancements. The role requires expertise in Workday Integration and Reporting modules and functionality including complex business process design and configuration. You will partner with other Business and Tech stakeholders to deliver Workday enhancements and updates.

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain integrations between Workday and 3rd party applications (internal & external systems) using Workday integration tools (Web Services, SOAP, Rest API, Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, Transformations, Business Processes etc) and related security.
  • Create and maintain custom reports using Advanced, Matrix and Composite report types, as well as Calculated Fields. Build report layouts using BIRT, Workday Docs.
  • Develop and maintain complex reports, utilizing built-in report writing tools and other organizational tools and technologies e.g. Workday Prism.
  • Create and maintain documentation relating to technical specification/design, build and unit testing.
  • Workday user security administration.
  • Monitor and resolve integration and technical issues related to Workday.
  • Act as an escalation point for Workday configuration issues raised by end-users.
  • Partner with the key stakeholders to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements and make recommendations for technical solutions.
  • Understand statutory and regulatory requirements affecting all aspects of business systems.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in technology and available or upcoming Workday features.
  • Partner with Business and Tech teams to evaluate regular feature releases, carry out impact analysis, and deliver required mitigations.
  • Seek out opportunities to improve our processes and drive efficiencies by rethinking existing configurations and reducing administration effort from end-users.
  • Design and operate processes, according to our standards and procedures, to keep our environment in healthy shape and compliant with needed control frameworks, driving Data Integrity and Security initiatives to meet business needs and ITGC requirements.
  • Provide timely work updates on Jira or other work management tool(s).
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of Workday specific experience with integrations and reporting.
  • Integrations - Proven experience with
    • Web Services and APIs, particularly SOAP and Rest API
    • Workday Studio
    • Enterprise Integration Builder
    • Core Connectors & Document Transformation
    • XSLT
    • Business Processes
  • Reporting experience with
    • Advanced, Composite and Matrix Reporting
    • Calculated Fields
    • Prism (configuring data catalogs and reports)
    • BIRT, Workday Docs
  • Workday Security experience - user management, user groups, roles, ISSGs, domains etc.
  • Detailed understanding of Workday reporting processes and best practices e.g. naming conventions, migration practices.
  • Understanding of the Workday business object model in Finance and HCM. Functional Workday knowledge in Finance and HCM would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Finance, HR, and Accounting practices.
  • Solid problem-solving and technical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Database querying and data transformation experience (Excel, Access, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience leading and documenting integration and reporting design.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the team and throughout the organization globally.
  • Ability to convey ideas and recommendations to a wide variety of audiences (technical, engineering, business) at all levels.
  • Self-starter, independent, team player, and proactive.
  • Strong attention to detail and a measured sense of urgency.
  • Workday certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with tools such as:
    • Postman
    • Jira
    • Confluence
    • Lucid (or equivalent visualization/process mapping tool)
    • Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
    • Google apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
    • Slack
