This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and growing team supporting new technology development solutions in the XR, VR and MR reality market for defence and Industrial solutions, virtual safety and training aids etc.

As the successful candidate you will Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of 3D assets optimised for XR applications, encompassing; 3D-modeling, animation, UV Mapping, and interactive elements for Unity and Unreal .

Prepare both low- and high-poly 3D assets derived from complex CAD models, tailored for performance.

Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and iterative refinements to deliver high-quality, stable XR applications.

This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (e.g. UK Security Clearance (SC)) as part of the hiring process.'

Job Description

In this role you will focus on:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of 3D assets optimized for XR applications, encompassing; 3D-modeling, animation, UV Mapping, and interactive elements for Unity and Unreal .
  • Prepare both low- and high-poly 3D assets derived from complex CAD models, tailored for performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders from sales, marketing, engineering, and product development to elicit requirements and translate them into immersive XR solutions.
  • Optimize 3D assets to ensure seamless performance and compatibility across different XR hardware.
  • Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and iterative refinements to deliver high-quality, stable XR applications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of developed assets and workflows, including version control, user manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer engagements and represent the company at trade shows.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • Minimum HND or higher degree in 3D Modelling/Art, Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Unity rendering pipelines (URP, HDRP, SRP), lighting workflows, Shader Graph, and VFX Graph.
  • Demonstrated experience with XR devices and technologies, such as VR, AR, and MR platforms (e.g., Meta Quest, HTC Vive).
  • Skilled in asset preparation using CAD-focused applications (e.g., CREO, AutoCAD).
  • Expertise in UV Mapping and PBR material workflows, utilizing tools such Adobe Substance Painter, Illustrator or Photoshop).
  • Experience in 3D modelling, animation, and rendering using industry-standard software, such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to new technologies and workflows efficiently.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility and a valid passport to meet travel requirements.
