As an XR Developer, you will play a pivotal role in developing immersive applications for one of the world's leading energy technology companies.

You will be responsible for creating interactive XR content for several use cases ranging from product showcases to training and simulation applications.

You will work as part of a dynamic new team with high visibility across the organisation, and collaborate closely with sales, marketing and product development teams.

Your work will contribute to creating new business opportunities as well as improve quality and safety through the development of VR, AR, and MR applications.

This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (e.g. UK Security Clearance (SC)) as part of the hiring process.'

Job Description

In this role you will focus on:

  • Develop XR Content: Design, prototype, and develop XR content for interactive product demos, training, simulation, and engineering optimisation purposes in the electrification industry.
  • C# Programming: Following SOLID, implement gameplay mechanics, interactions, UI and complex systems tailored to industry-specific use cases.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with key stakeholder from sales, marketing, engineering and product development to understand the requirements and translate them into immersive XR solutions.
  • Performance Optimisation: Build performant applications that run smoothly across different devices and technologies (VR, AR, MR).
  • Testing & Debugging: Perform thorough testing, debugging, and iterative improvements to ensure high-quality, stable applications.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation for developed software, including version control, user guides and technical specifications.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • Experience in Unity Engine: advanced and demonstrated hands-on experience in developing XR applications using Unity.
  • Knowledge of XR Hardware: Proven experience with VR, AR, and MR technologies (e.g., Meta Quest, HTC Vive, etc).
  • Technical Skills: C# programming for Unity with an understanding of SOLID and DRY principles, Optimization techniques and Game Design Patterns.
  • SDKs and Libraries: Knowledge and experience with using common tools/ packages such as; XR Interaction Toolkit, Unity DOTS, Meta All-in-One SDK, Photon Fusion 2, VIVE'..
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly understand and adapt to new technologies and workflows.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, capable of working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Can work with initiative on challenges, problem solving, ambitious, highly motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Willing to travel within UK and overseas for supporting customer meetings and Industry events.

What will make you stand out:

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience working on XR applications for industrial use cases (e.g. Energy, automotive, power) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Simulation & Training: Previous work on simulation-based training applications, especially in industrial, technical settings or IoT contexts.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and Blueprint/ C++ programming Knowledge of Creating and deploying; RESTful APIs and Unity networking solutions (Photon, Netcode for GameObjects..)

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum HND (Bachelor's degree preferred) in Computer Science, Game Development, Digital Media, or related field.
