GE Vernova is a leading developer of reliable, high-performance wind turbines, committed to delivering sustainable and efficient technologies. We are seeking a talented Vibroacoustics Engineer to join our Wind Acoustics Team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge products and solutions.
As a Vibroacoustics Engineer, you will join the Wind Acoustics Team and play a critical role in analyzing, designing and optimizing the acoustic performance of wind turbine drivetrain systems, enhancing both product quality and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with design teams, cross-functional teams and other designated experts across System Simulation, Mechanical & Electrical Systems to ensure that GE Vernova wind platforms meet noise requirements, with a particular focus on tonal audibility. You will also design and conduct experimental tests on a regular basis to assess full-scale turbine performance, verify simulation results and validate proposals for tonality mitigation.

Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform detailed vibroacoustic analysis of wind turbine drivetrain systems, leveraging advanced simulation tools and techniques
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce unwanted tonal contributions from drivetrain components, especially gearbox systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including component owners, testing and manufacturing engineers, to integrate vibroacoustic solutions into current drivetrain designs
- Act as key point of contact for the definition, measurement and validation of sound specifications for individual machinery components
- Analyze test data to identify patterns, detect potential vibroacoustic issues and recommend corrective actions
- Perform experimental testing and validation to ensure accurate correlation between simulations and full wind turbine acoustic performance
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to key stakeholders
- Stay up to date on the latest advancements in vibroacoustic technology and industry standards
Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Acoustical Engineering etc. with proven experience in acoustics and vibration theory, preferably with a focus on gearbox and drivetrain systems or significant academic or industrial experience in the related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gearbox structure and mechanical components.
- High proficiency in FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and MBS (Multi-Body Simulation) software packages such as SimPack, ANSYS and SimLab.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented codes in Python and Matlab languages.
- Experience with signal processing, vibration data analysis techniques and measurement procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail as well as strong oral and written communication skills, effective collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential. Good command of German is an advantage.
