GE Vernova - Renewable Energy would like to recruit a Tendering Engineer to work for the GSI HVDC Transformer PdG (GSI = Grid Systems Integration, PdG= Product Delivery Group) team.
As the successful position holder, you will be a key contributor in the GSI HVDC Transformers Tendering team which supports HVDC systems business development.
The tendering activities of the PdG during tender preparation and negotiation, are carried in close contact with design, sourcing and production to ensure a high quality and competitive proposals.

- Supports bid strategy in association with Capture Team Leaders to deliver the tender in an efficient manner, maximise Customers satisfaction and increase probability of success.
- Deliver the bid in line with agreed bid strategy, organise the tendering activities, Co-ordinate with Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Finance & Project Management team to study feasibility, optimise the technical solution and commercial proposal.
- Support tendering meetings and negotiations, ensure clarifications / answers / presentations are available and reviewed ahead of Customers requests, and organise appropriate team to participate in Customer meetings.
- Build and manage tender schedule, lead tender reviews, monitor, and report on tender progress.
- Identify and act on any issue or deviation to bidding plan in a clear and anticipated manner.
- Propose mitigation actions based on experience and implement corrective actions.
- Hand-over and launch the project to OTR (Order to Remittance) team.
- Propose and implement tendering process improvement aiming at continuously improving the quality of the bid (reduce tendering slippage and enhance customer satisfaction).
- Ensure adherence to tendering procedures and tools, in particular all relevant tender approvals and gates should be obtained and recorded in a timely manner.
- Provide support during the tender review process in addressing any concern to ensure on time delivery of the tender outputs. Also, ensure that all comments received during the Tender Approvals are recorded and addressed before submittal of the proposal.
- Support HVDC Tender review and participate to PRB (Project Review Board).
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge of products and solution so as to better anticipate technical issues and promptly elaborate mitigation actions.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, and competitor actions, and provide recommendations to internal departments in order to better meet Customers satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering OR proven experience of equivalent level.
- Experience in a large international engineering projects environment, including experience in complex tenders (or project) of medium to large scale, including sound understanding of commercial management and contract terms.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in costing.
- Ability to lead contract negotiations and clarifications with Customers in an international environment.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- HVDC, Power Transformer and other HV equipment knowledge and experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work under very time constrained activities.
- Good understanding of electrical power system engineering for Utility customers.
- Knowledge of the company's business set-up, aims and procedure (preferred).
- High degree of IT Literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Words, MS project, ...) with excellent numerical skills.

Lichfield Road manufacturing facility has been originally established in 1903 and has been standing since 1960 as a part of English Electric group, delivering power transformers, that later merged GEC Alsthom and later became ALSTOM, and has been acquired by GE in 2015. Stafford is ideally suited for research and advanced manufacturing with our highly skilled staff and position at the heart of the UK's transport network. GE is proud to be the largest employer in Stafford, with around 1,700 employees across multiple sites.
The transformer facility has been renowned all over the world with its expertise in design, manufacturing, and delivery of HVAC and HVDC transformers world-wide, up to 800kV.
