Job Description Summary

The Test Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating and executing product development testing in the Greenville Technology Lab (GTL) facility in Greenville, SC. In this 100% on-site role, you will support GTL's mission of executing engineering development testing of power components and accessory systems to acquire high-quality design data facilitating the development of world-class products to power the energy transition.

Job Description

The Test Engineer is responsible for interfacing with the Design Engineering teams in the planning, design, development, instrumentation, and execution of engineering development testing of energy products including gas turbine components, wind turbine components, and accessories systems supporting the Component and Development Test Center of Excellence of GE Vernova Gas Power.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for integrating engineering requirements with Design Engineering, Facilities and Instrumentation Engineering, and Data Systems Engineering in the design, development, and test execution to prove out component and system functionality and reliability.
  • Provide technical assistance to Assembly and Instrumentation personnel.
  • Oversee every aspect of test build and execution.
  • Responsible for operational compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Responsible for full compliance with GE and regulatory EHS policies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment with a goal of "zero" injuries.
  • Work directly with customers both internal and external to GE Vernova.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that align with our LEAN tools.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • This role is 100% on site 5 days a week to support the quality build and execution of combustion tests. Travel is not expected for this role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering / Science from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering / Science field.)
  • Minimum of 2 years industrial or engineering experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
  • 4+ years' experience in design, development, or testing of turbines, jet engines, or turbo machinery
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well with all levels within the organization
  • Boundaryless thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with high-pressure / high-temperature fuel, inert gas, and air systems
  • Experience in combustion design or installation

Pay Transparency:

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is

$79,400.00 -$ 119,000.00 USD Annually. .The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 5% annual performance incentive.
