Job Description Summary

SCADA engineer is responsible for the preparation of the architecture of SCADA system, Finalize Communications methods and interface tools for the SCADA. Works with Global stakeholders and 3rd party vendors to come up with the best system solution for SCADA in Metals/Testbenches and Mining domain.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Carry out SCADA/HMI Projects for any Industry
  • Application development for HMI like PCvue, iFix, Cimplicity, Intouch
  • Understanding Customer Requirements and produce Functional and design documents
  • Support ongoing project with strict timelines as per company's OTR process.
  • Actively engage with project teams to provide solutions for the project that technically fit the purpose.
  • Identify technical risks and put in place the mitigation plan for the same.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all company and customer's EHS policies and procedures.
  • Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, system solutions and technologies, rolling out improvements when agreed with leadership team.
  • Foster relationship with other GE business entities to maximise the benefits of synergies.
  • Liaise with other GE businesses, platform verticals, supply chain, sub-contractors and suppliers as appropriate in order to support the project and the business.

Required qualifications

  • Masters /Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation engineering .
  • Around 5 years of experience in the following-
  • Demonstrated experience working with industrial network communication protocols such as OPCUA/DA, IEC 61850, Modbus, TCP/IP, Profibus etc.
  • System design - HMI server client configuration, Redundant server configuration.
  • Historian Knowledge, Configuring & knowledge of Alarm Management (Historical, SMS, Email, Voice).
  • Report Generation Knowledge (Shift/Batch/Day) with Backend SQL & MS Access.
  • Strong background in HMI application development for PCVue products or any other HMI packages, experience in back-end scripting (VBA Scripting knowledge, C, C++ knowledge added advantage), interface with database such as SQL, MS Access etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and application of virtual machines in a Microsoft Windows operating environment is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in the HMI application development and cyber protection requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the industrial controls, power generation industry, IEC 61850 standards, PRP/HSR networks.
  • Strong computer skills: experience setting up Windows based applications such as Windows 10 and above proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
