Job Description Summary

In this role you will enjoy the opportunity of travelling extensively both internationally and within the UK, in order to achieve close collaboration with our suppliers. This role is crucial to maintaining a high level of surveillance in all aspects of supplier activities to ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, Purchase Order agreement and Project Technical Documentation are being fully implemented to achieve right first-time delivery of Transformer Products in-full to GE Transformer factory.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Gate Stage & Pre-Shipment inspection timetable & travel arrangements with supplier & Supplier Quality Engineer.
  • Perform Gate Stage and Pre-Shipment Inspections at supplier factory in accordance with applicable procedures & Supplier Control Plans to ensure product compliance to Purchase Order agreement and all associated engineering documentation.
  • Support supplier qualification process through performing First Sample Product Approvals.
  • Create Non-conformity reports, accurately describing defects identified with supply and implement effective quarantining of non-conforming products prior at supplier premises.
  • Verification of corrective actions to address defects.
  • Proactively assist in resolution of quality issues with Supplier and support the Root Cause Analysis of defects.
  • Provide support with Supplier Quality audits against requirements of ISO 9001:2015

Qualifications, and Requirements

  • Extensive career in product inspection (preferably with Transformer related products).
  • Willingness to travel extensively overseas and within UK.
  • Highly Experienced in understanding requirements of engineering drawings.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes in the supply of transformer commodities including fabrications, electrical steel, winding copper & insulation.
  • Experience in use of non-conformity reporting tools and IT literate with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good working knowledge of GE quality tools within Quality Suite, & RCA methodology would be advantageous.
