Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and lead robust commodity and sourcing strategies across internal and external equipment, subcontractors, and site works to support NAM Projects (ACS, FACTS, HVDC, and Services).
- Lead a high-performing team of Commodity Managers in the development of comprehensive supplier panels, capability assessments, should-cost models, market analyses, and historical pricing databases.
- Conduct deep market intelligence and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and innovation.
- Develop and maintain robust should-cost models, benchmarking tools, and supplier cost breakdown structures.
- Establish and continuously update supplier panels and perform capability assessments to ensure alignment with technical, quality, and commercial expectations.
- Build and manage a historical quote and pricing database to support analytics, negotiation strategies, and continuous improvement.
- Build strategic commodity plans that consider the competitive landscape, capacity constraints, and future demand to ensure long-term supply continuity and resilience.
- Drive competitive cost outcomes and implement robust commercial agreements that mitigate risk and align with project schedules, technical requirements, and customer expectations. Validate terms and conditions are accurately reflected on purchase orders.
- Lead the negotiation of project-specific agreements for engineered equipment, subcontractors, and site works, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with project needs.
- Proactively identify and execute dual sourcing strategies for single/sole source commodities to mitigate risk and ensure supply chain continuity.
- Own the full set of sourcing KPIs for the region, including cost deflation, Days to Pay (DTP), vendor recovery, sourcing on-time delivery (OTD), and others aligned with business performance.
- Ensure the region has adequate resources-employees, tools, skills, and suppliers-to support all tendering activity and project execution requirements.
- Establish team operating rhythms, capability-building plans, and training programs to ensure consistent team development and performance delivery.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and other functions to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the ITO Sourcing Leader and Operations team to ensure clear alignment on supplier identification during the tender stage and effective selection during execution.
- Partner with the Procurement Team Leader to ensure timely and quality delivery of materials and services in accordance with project schedules.
- Promote Lean principles and a culture of continuous improvement within the sourcing function
- Ensure full compliance with GE Grid Solutions sourcing policies, regulatory requirements, and specific project and customer contractual obligations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Project Management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role related to Projects and Supply Chain
- Able and willing to travel 30% including international and comply with GE travel and tax guidelines.
Desired Characteristics:
- MBA and/or strong financial acumen
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, ideally in industrial, energy, or construction sectors
- Proven leadership and people management experience, including remote teams
- Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Expertise in sourcing engineered equipment, high-voltage electrical materials, and construction/civil services
- Experience with cost modeling, supplier evaluation, and market intelligence
- Solid understanding of EPC contracts, including legal and contractual terms
- Ability to drive operational rigor, lead cross-functional teams, and influence in matrixed environments
- Demonstrated change leadership, with a focus on building structure and capability in complex, fast-paced settings
- Proven ability to develop, coach, and mentor talent
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; continuous improvement mindset
- Familiarity with scheduling/planning of large projects and technical knowledge of sourced products
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement policies, standards, and best practices

The salary range for this position is 119,700.00 - 159,600.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 119,700.00 - 159,600.00 - 199,400.00 USD Annual
