Job Description Summary

Staff Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for providing Technical Leadership in Test Automation and Leading Test Automation scrum teams with ability to work independently and across multiple teams, break down problems and estimate time for quality related tasks. Lead scrum teams and deliver on time. Design Frameworks and Write quality code to automate test cases.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in test automation and performance testing activities for the Solution Test and Certification Team, ensuring quality and efficiency in test automation framework design and development.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks and performance testing scripts using industry coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design comprehensive test strategies and plans for Test Automation on a Quarterly basis with each sprint breakdown.
  • Identify and resolve issues with test automation scripts and performance test scripts.
  • Mentor and guide team members, providing technical expertise and oversight.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve testing tools, methodologies, and processes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Provide detailed reports and analysis of test results, including recommendations for improvements.
  • Do PoCs, compare tools available in the market and arrive at tooling decisions based on market trends and fitment to project needs

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software test automation, with a focus on test automation framework design & implementation and performance testing.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools such as Playwright, Katalon, Groovy scripting, TypeScript, JavaScript, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
  • Exposure to triaging and debugging failures in Kubernetes, reviewing cluster configurations, and performing high availability testing
  • Must have hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# and debugging code issues
  • Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Apache Bench.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests in DevOps processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
  • Experience with cloud-based testing environments and tools.
  • Knowledge of database management and SQL.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Previous experience in leading test teams or projects in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Understanding of AI/ML, GenAI and how it can be applied to Test Automation and Performance Testing
