Job Description Summary
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the execution of high-priority, complex projects that substantially affect both business and customer profitability. This position entails managing scope, cost, schedule, and risk, while also ensuring quality and customer satisfaction for all assigned programs and projects, specifically for electrical AIS and or GIS High Voltage substations.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of large, high-visibility, potentially high-risk substation projects, including new product introductions, first-of-a-kind solutions, international deployments, penalties, rewards, and accelerated schedules. Serve as the single point of contact for senior-level customer interactions and both internal and external project teams. Assume overall responsibility for project leadership and strategy, including planning, directing, and controlling resources and processes in complex work-scope projects to ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and safety and technical/engineering standards.
Estimate budgets and track/influence project costs to ensure timely completion within budget. Engage in pre-contract processes as necessary during project scope, schedule, and cost development. Coordinate with other engineering fields and support functions to facilitate project development, implementation, and control. Coach Project Specialists, Project Managers, and other Engineers to enhance project management skills. Interface with providers, subcontractors, and customers to align project specifications and requirements, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and strict compliance with quality standards.

Develop multiple contracts and subcontractor work scopes, coordinating their administration through written agreements. Resolve issues utilizing change management strategies and ensure timely collection of payments. Communicate work package completion and commitment percentages required for project financial "estimate at completion" forecasting. Facilitate the quantification and documentation of project performance with both the project team and customer immediately after completion. Manage proposal efforts for large international projects as necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) from an accredited university or college OR equivalent experience incorporating electrification systems (GA, GSI PT or PCS) coupled with a Business degree.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in project management of electrical substations OR business leadership experience incorporating electrification systems (i.e., GA, GSI, PT or PCS.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, which may include international travel. Must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies, including possessing the necessary authorization to work without sponsorship and travel within the United States.
Desired Characteristics:
- Prior experience managing high voltage electrical utility projects.
- Previous responsibility for projects or programs involving multiple businesses and/or functions across the entire project cycle-from development and design through manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning and test acceptance.
- Ability to manage external, customer-facing projects to successful completion.
- Proficiency in applying advanced technical, engineering, and quality assurance concepts to solve practical business problems.
- Experience working with global teams and partners.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service quality in all aspects of project delivery.
- Capability to successfully interface with executive-level management within both sponsor and customer organizations.
- Ability to apply and coach managerial and leadership concepts and techniques, including planning, executing, directing, coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and controlling.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Capacity to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term projects simultaneously.
- PMI certification and familiarity with modern project management techniques and software systems, including global resource planning systems and Primavera project management software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with contractual terms and experience managing customer-facing contracts.
- Experience in preparing proposals for complex substations, including international projects and quality training.
The salary range for this position is 125,500.00 - 167,400.00 USD Annual The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their
education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive performance bonus of 15%. 125,500.00 - 167,400.00 - 209,200.00 USD Annual
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $125,500.00 and $209,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
