Sr Engineering Leader FACTS India
Job Description Summary
We are looking for Engineering Leader to join the FACTS PDG team based in Noida, India. You will be working on cutting edge technology and varied international high profile projects. In this position, you will be reporting to FACTS Global Power Electronics Engineering Leader - a top priority position to lead a critical engineering function in the FACTS business.
Job Description
Key tasks:
In this position, you will lead the engineering of grid integration of high power (> 100MVAr) reactive power compensators, namely STATCOM (static synchronous compensator) and SVC (static var compensator). Your main task is people, team organization and engineering leadership, and you will be accountable for successful engineering delivery according to highly demanding customer specifications. You get to see the full engineering workflow from Tender evaluations and bid preparation, to projects' detail design, and finally commissioning of the compensator at the actual site.
Key Accountabilities
- Leadership through clear priority deployment, team skills/capability development and building our future strategic roadmap
- Plan, organize and execute on STATCOM technology and engineering localization for India market
- Validate Projects' resource needs and work estimations, maintain healthy resource portfolio (capacity forecasting and recruitment)
- Mentor and enforce engineering process rigor (first-time right culture, quality checks/milestones and change management)
- Projects' engineering KPIs (on-time delivery, quality and cost)
- Seek and deploy Continuous Improvement and Process improvement opportunities
Qualifications/Requirements:
- ME / M Tech in Electrical Engineering or another relevant field
- Preferably 15+ years' experience in engineering and with minimum 7 years of experience in people supervision
- Experience from Substation/Grid connected technology and projects, eg. FACTS, HVDC
- Knowledge in development/application of engineering processes and continuous improvement
- Strategic view to anticipate and implement coming needs
- Fluent written and oral skills in English
- Strong prioritizing and time management skills
