Job Description Summary

The Sourcing Specialist leads strategic sourcing activities for assigned Facilities categories (example: equipment, maintenance, construction, etc.) at GE Gas Power's North American sites. Responsibilities include developing strategies, leading negotiations for optimal pricing, quality, and terms, and supporting total cost of ownership reduction through vendor management, demand management, equipment and scope standardization, and compliance. Reporting to the Regional Indirect Sourcing Leader, the Specialist collaborates with the Global Category Sourcing team to coordinate sourcing efforts, drive the RFQ process, and select suppliers for investment projects. Additionally, the Specialist partners with stakeholders in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure excellent service levels. This position may be based in Schenectady, NY, Greenville, SC, or remote within the United States.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Global Commodity Leaders to develop negotiation strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
  • Promote best practices, measure and track internal performance, monitor strategy implementation to ensure benefit realization within the assigned category spend.
  • Oversee end-to-end Sourcing process: strategy, market analysis, negotiation process (RFXs), supplier selection and contract creation, and buy channel management.
  • Perform detailed cost analysis and negotiations to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Drive standardized sourcing processes and achievement of savings and cash targets.
  • Develop strategic suppliers to reduce cycle time from demand identification to PO placement.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies and processes.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues and stakeholders on sourcing process, commodity strategies, and sourcing execution.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • 5+ years' Sourcing experience
  • Strong experience within the assigned category and complex project commercial negotiations
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to implement and drive process improvements
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills including solid knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Demonstrated negotiations skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience with RFQ implementation and execution
  • Strong experience in Procurement processes
  • Aggressive self-starter, fast learner able to handle multiple tasks in parallel

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA or Bachelor's degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering
  • Experience in Facilities Sourcing commodities (CAPEX, Construction, Maintenance, Material Handling Equipment, Janitorial, Waste, Landscaping, etc.)
  • Strategic sourcing / category management experience in a multinational company
  • Strong track record for implementing change and delivering results
  • Thought leader, collaborative mindset in working across functional areas
  • Strong project management skills

The base pay range for this position is $94,600.00 - 126,100.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
