Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for carrying out purchasing activities for specific material or service categories in line with global and local sourcing strategies, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery performance. This person will manage key processes such as supplier selection, contract negotiations, cost reduction projects, and market analysis. Additionally, the role includes active involvement in supplier quality tracking and handling commercial requests. The position requires close collaboration with global teams and various internal departments.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels. Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers. Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. This may also include purchasing activities.
- Broadening knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline to execute functional policy/strategy; still developing functional knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Managing the supplier selection process, including searching for new suppliers, materials, and technologies at local or global level, and carrying out supplier evaluations (e.g. SRG audits)
- Negotiating and preparing contracts and agreements with suppliers (including price, payment terms, incoterms, warranty conditions, and logistics requirements)
- Allocating purchase requests to appropriate suppliers and conducting supplier negotiations
- Proposing and implementing cost reduction projects by using cost models to support category strategies and analyze key cost drivers
- Performing market analysis by tracking new products, potential suppliers, legal regulations, and industry developments
- Monitoring supplier quality performance and development plans, and managing supplier-related quality issues
- Collaborating closely with the Global Sourcing Team, Global Commodity Leaders, and other related departments throughout all sourcing processes
- Managing commercial claims and supporting negotiations through data analysis and reporting

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree of an engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sourcing and commodity management area
- Knowledge of managing contractors or vendors
- Comfortable in hybrid working conditions
- Strong oral and written English language skills
- Ability to live in Istanbul or Kocaeli
- Experience with an ERP system
Desired Characteristics
- Ability to travel domestically
- Good communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
- Prior experience in manufacturing environment and/or experience working in heavy industry is preferred
- Ability to document, plan, market and execute programs
- Prior experience working with SAP is a plus
