Job Description Summary

Project Management/ Planning/ Coordinating activities typically in the context of a production or services project to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsible for safe and reliable operation of customer's 2XGT26 (HE upgraded) by providing technical advisory services to customer's O&M team and also acting as an interfacing person between GEV's technical department and customer's O&M department on technical issues related to Gas/Steam Turbines, Generator, Auxiliary/Control System etc. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results while working very closely with Contract Portfolio Manager and Service Director. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • All contract performance related activities , typically tied to a customer site. Perform in the role as the interface between the customer and the technical team, managing the transfer of information and requests. Daily interaction with customer on technical matters related to Safe and Reliable operation of CSA covered equipment.
  • The candidate should have in-dept knowledge (either Mechanical or Control) of Legacy Alstom products such as GT26 Gas Turbine, Alspa Control System, Steam Turbine, Generator and Auxiliary System associated with the power train.
  • Assure timely resolution of issues and keep the customer advised of the progress of technical issues, and negotiate changes and variations and solutions to any issue arising. Responsible for adherence to contract service, operations, and performance specifications, as well as financial & technical metrics specific to contract. Perform proposal negotiation, and contract administration functions on assigned proposals / contracts with minimal supervision • Provide support to manager and senior contracts personnel on assigned contracts Function as the liaison for the customer on contract matters
  • Basic knowledge of CSA
  • Be on standby outside of office hours to respond to customer's emergencies via phone calls or emails; and even be physically at site to attend to those emergencies if required
  • Work regularly with internal stakeholders such as field services, global repair centers, parts, applications, fleet management, engineering team to solve customer's technical issues, participate in RCAs, outage planning and solutioning processes to continuously improve customer's satisfaction.
  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • To be successful in this role, you would have experience in GT26 and it's auxillary systems (cooling water towers, compressor, generator) within Combine Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) either in the capacity of Operations & Maintenance (O&M), commissioning or field services is essential.
  • HRSG experience is an advantage.
  • Bachelor of Electrical or Mechanical Engineer Degree from a local or internationally recognised university is essential
  • This role requires advanced experience in the Services & Contract Performance Management (CPM). Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
