We are seeking a seasoned Site Manager to lead the construction and commissioning activities for a major hydropower project in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The site-based leadership role is responsible for preparing, managing, and controlling the different phases of field operations and interfacing directly with the client, Ontario Power Generation (OPG). This critical role ensures that site works are completed safely, at the required quality standards, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction site management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently for schedule adherence across multiple concurrent workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all site-based construction and commissioning activities.
- Maintains a strong EHS culture and ensures targets are met.
- Ensure Quality of works, documentation and reporting.
- On time delivery.
- Ensures a high standard of resource workmanship.
- Fosters the approval and satisfaction of the client site team.
- Provide technical oversight and direction to subcontractors, trades, and internal teams.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager (PMCC), Technical Advisors, Area Superintendents, and Planners.
- Ensure alignment with project schedule, cost, and quality objectives (SQDC).
- Drive conflict resolution and root-cause analysis in a professional, politically astute manner.
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality, with safety as the top priority.
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Represent the company in daily interactions with OPG and other stakeholders.
- Lead by example in planning, execution, and team leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of experience in site management roles, ideally in hydropower (refurbishment or new build).
- Candidates with strong mechanical/electrical experience in steam, nuclear, or generation projects may be considered.
- Background in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical disciplines.
- Trade certification (e.g., Millwright, High Voltage Electrician) or engineering degree with field experience is acceptable.
- Proven ability to manage complex site operations and lead multidisciplinary teams within an EPCM environment.
- Strong appreciation for skilled trades and craft work.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, schedule recovery, and team mobilization.
- Demonstrated experience in cost control and financial accountability.
- Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Strong command of the English language; able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively.
- Valid ON driving license.
- Agree to undergo pre-employment screening, including but not limited to a reference and background check.
- Have the right to work without restriction in Canada.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with OPG or similar North American utility clients.
- Ability to work extended hours (10-hour days, 5-6 days/week).
- Familiarity with EHS and Quality systems; strong commitment to GE Vernova's SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) principles.
- Includes direct people management responsibility for staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and interface touchpoints within a live operating hydropower plant.
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and adds value to developing the skills of the project team.
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
