Senior SMT Technician

Rochester, MA

Job Description Summary

The main tasks for this role include the programming, maintenance and troubleshooting of SMT lines inclusive of stencil printing, pick and place, reflow solder, AOI, selective soldering equipment. Support facilities equipment such as air compressors, vacuum pumps. Due to the complexity of the process, the successful candidate must have strong attention to detail and a high sense of quality.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Shop Service Technician will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing programs for all SMT and though hole circuit board assembly, soldering and inspection equipment.
  • Program development will include but not limited to Pick and Place, Screen Printing, Reflow Profiling, AOI, SPI, Selective.
  • Works with production, engineering, and machine operators to maintain equipment and to ensure efficient operation of equipment and expected quality output.
  • Follow ECN/ECO/BOM Documentation in accordance with Engineering and ISO guidelines.
  • Schedule equipment maintenance in conjunction with production schedule.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized in the manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in SMT programming and maintenance

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to stand over 50% of the time.
  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime

Desired Characteristics

  • Working knowledge of BOM, ECN/ECO, Component Packages/Shapes and IPC standards
  • Support and Troubleshooting SMT and soldering equipment
  • Computer skills, MS Office, mechanical/electrical experience. Handle multiple tasks.
  • Efficient in Time Management, Problem Solving, Organized & Self-Motivated
  • Experience programming, operation and troubleshooting SMT placement equipment, stencil printers, AOI and SPI equipment as well as selective solder equipment platforms, with desire to learn and understand more about the equipment
