The Senior Proposal Engineer will work directly with engineering teams to develop engineering inputs to a diverse team responsible for the development of new plant engineering proposals, early works agreements and new product developments.

In this position the Senior Proposal Engineer will drive timely decision making of technical issues related to the application of our standard plant on different opportunities, proposal technical write-ups, engineering estimates and schedule development. The Senior Proposal Engineer will coordinate, expedite, and close open issues/concern and be responsible to ensure on-time and budget delivery of early works projects and new product developments.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Senior Proposal Engineer, you will:

  • Report solid line to the Proposal Engineering manager
  • Provide leadership and be accountable for on-time delivery of design products within budget
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering teams, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders
  • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues
  • Work with Advanced Application and functional engineering teams to build estimates, schedules, manage change orders and responses to Corrective Actions
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces and drive timely resolution of technical project issues with multiple engineering disciplines, business project and product management, partners, subcontractors, and customers
  • Support the planning, organization, and management of the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables
  • Support the management of external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions
  • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH
  • Support GVH initiatives, process improvement and simplification
  • Ensure adherence to GVH's standards for nuclear safety and compliance
  • Partner with business teams and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leads across GVH

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline
  • At least 12 years of progressive experience in engineering design, project development, and/or project leadership experience

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time as required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry
  • Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations
  • High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple demands and priorities
  • High performing energetic leader with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
  • Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change mgmt)
  • EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant
  • Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
