Project Manager - Grid Systems Integration (GSI)
Job Description Summary
You will be responsible to work with the different functions to oversee and when requested coordinate customer inquiries, coordinating bid responses and ensuring accurate scope and pricing as well as guiding cross-functional teams from initial request through to order placement. You will have to attend all future negotiation sessions on HVDC project currently underway in Japan and LTSA, you will also be accountable for the HVDC project execution in Grid Systems Integration (GSI) Japan. You are expected to provide leadership to manage risks & opportunities and ensure that the project/work package follows high standards in terms of quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
The role initially starts with customer facing on HVDC project currently underway in Japan which includes but not limited to scheduling, pricing and solution offerings and follow with developing and implementing the overall plan for the execution of the project to achieve the project performance goals in accordance with the contract and the project execution strategy provided by Project Directors.

- Coordinate when requested with cross-functional teams on tender schedule, monitor and report on tender progress. Identify and report any issue or deviation to bidding strategy in a clear and anticipated manner. Propose mitigation actions based on experience and implement corrective actions.
- Build up when requested the cost estimate and ensure all costs are properly validated and adequate risks provisions are considered for projects. Establish a realistic target cost at early stage of the tender.
- Develop and maintain when requested outstanding relationships with Customer. Lead when requested the preparation of Customer meetings and negotiations, ensure clarifications/answers/presentations are available and reviewed ahead of customers' requests. Lead/participate in Customer meetings.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge of products and solution so as to better anticipate technical issues and promptly elaborate mitigation actions.
- Manage when requested end-to-end ITO process from receipt of customer inquiry through to execution
- Develop and maintain when requested project timelines, deliverables, and risk assessments.
- Ensure when requested alignment between customer requirements and internal capabilities.
- Coordinate when requested technical and commercial reviews prior to proposal submission.
- Track and report when requested on ITO project metrics (win/loss, cycle time, compliance, etc.).
Order To Requisition (OTR)
Execute as per customer satisfaction and deliver Sales and cash as per yearly commitment.
1- Customer fronting:
- Ramp-up meetings with customer on HVDC project currently underway in Japan
- Day to day customer management when requested
- Priority setting when requested for all the project team members following GSI guidelines
- Project Interface Scope Management with customer when requested
- Follow-up Billing and Cash collection on monthly basis
- Follow-up site activities in collaboration with Site Coordination Manager
- Ensure that the Management, Project Team and Client are fully informed of project matters as necessary
- Work closely with Contract Management
2- Execution
- Establish and animate operational rhythm when requested
- Establish the Project budget, time scale and scope when requested
- Ensure when requested that all deliverables are covered by work packages or purchase orders.
- Monitor when requested the work completed and work to be done to ensure that it is realistic and within capability
- Ensure when requested that the project is delivered on time on budget
- Mitigate when requested risks and develop opportunity portfolio
- Re-estimate when requested cost-to-complete on monthly basis
- Ensure standard of quality expected is known and actions are in place to adjust as necessary
- Ensure that suppliers are managed within their Contracts
3-Team Management
- Partner & collaborate with the line managers to ensure that the correct level of competent resources are being made available to ensure the successful completion of the project
- Influence and drive internal communications Management to ensure a collaborative work environment to drive high performance teams
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree Level or equivalent in Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Previous Project Management experience is preferred
- Good Communication Skills (Fluent English, Japanese mandatory)
- Commercial awareness with demonstrated ability to negotiate variation, settlements in complex projects
- Ability to work on multiple task
- s whilst maintaining accuracy within set time limits.

- Willing to travel extensively within Japan and overseas sometimes to have reviews with European project team
- Leadership to guide & coach project teams.
