Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to take ownership of project delivery - ensuring excellence in execution, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

In this role, you will manage the full project lifecycle from planning to delivery, leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across departments to ensure successful outcomes. You will work with a degree of autonomy, guided by established policies and supported by an experienced leadership team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead and manage the execution of assigned projects, ensuring delivery within scope, time, budget, and quality standards.
  • Develop, monitor, and control project budgets and timelines, including contingency plans to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage project activities to meet contractual and customer requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks while maximising opportunities for project improvement.
  • Lead Gate Reviews and ensure all project authorisations (technical and financial) are secured.

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers (UK and overseas), ensuring clear, timely, and effective communication.
  • Facilitate collaboration across internal teams - including Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Master Scheduling - to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and met.
  • Represent GE at customer meetings, ensuring professional and solution-oriented interactions.

Commercial & Financial Control

  • Regularly review and manage project costs, keeping them within agreed targets and reporting variances.
  • Ensure project invoices are issued promptly and that overdue debts are minimised.
  • Identify and formalise project variations, ensuring additional work is covered through contract amendments.
  • Safeguard company interests, ensuring all commercial and technical contractual obligations are met.

Leadership & Reporting

  • Provide clear project leadership, motivating and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellence.
  • Produce accurate monthly management reports and maintain a proactive approach to performance tracking.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Risk Register and support mitigation or recovery actions where necessary.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience managing complex, high-value, multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Strong operational understanding of risk and opportunity management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Skilled in leading, motivating, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and general PC literacy.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
