Production Planner

GE - Renewable Energy would like to recruit a Production Planner to work for our Grid Solutions business from our Stafford office.

The role will manage the supply of manufactured components and products, maintaining the highest level of customer service while optimising the company's investment in inventory.
You will maintain balanced and achievable production plans to minimise costs.

Job Description

• Managing the creation and release of production orders in SAP
• Reacting to the SAP ERP system planning exception messages - cancelling and re-scheduling orders as appropriate
• Using the system's capacity planning information to highlight potential problems.
• Providing information as required on shortages and projected availability.
• Liaison with Production/material planners/purchasing over material requirements and projected availability.
• Investigation of process issues arising from any supply chain problems - shortages or excess inventory - and liaison with other parties as required.

• Control and focus on production arrears.
• On-time production delivery statistics.
• Management of MRP exception messages
• Acceptable level of manufactured inventory.

• Good understanding of the principles of production and inventory planning and control
• Good Knowledge of SAP / MRP systems
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of problem-solving tools and techniques
• Manufacturing and Supply Chain experience.
