Roles and Responsibilities:

Champion Safety Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in product safety engineering methodologies and techniques for our advanced equipment and devices.

Mitigate Risk, Maximize Impact: Identify and reduce safety risks throughout the product design lifecycle. Conduct cutting-edge safety risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and human factors analyses to enhance the safety of power generation environments.

Collaborate for Excellence: Partner with cross-functional teams to implement safety, EHS, regulatory, compliance, and customer requirements into every design.

Become a Safety Authority: Master the intricacies of Battery Energy Storage Systems and other related technologies. Shape the future of product safety in this dynamic field.

Train and Mentor: Share your knowledge of product safety principles and best practices to elevate the entire team's safety expertise.

Solve Real-World Safety Challenges: Contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to solve complex safety concerns, working closely with engineering, legal, and management teams.

Document Safety Success: Meticulously document risk assessments, investigations, and mitigation strategies to ensure a flawless safety record.

Lead product safety risk assessments: Product Hazard Assessments (PHA), Hazardous Operations Studies (HAZOP), quantitative risk modeling, and Job Hazard Analyses.

• Provide thorough documentation of risk assessments (assumptions, team meetings, and program status in the SAFER database

Desired Characteristics:

  • Battery Energy Storage design or operations experience.
  • Experience with product safety methods, processes, and tools such as Reliasoft Weibull and RENO.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Familiarity with safety related Regulatory Compliance and Occupational Health standards of Power Systems.
  • Willingness to challenge previous designs or ongoing processes to ensure adherence to safety compliance.
  • Diligent record keeping and acute attention to detail for proof-reading and creation / maintenance of permanent safety records.
  • Excellent technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated team building, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform well, under pressure, as a problem solver.
  • Organizational and documentation skills to keep track of multiple issues and action items to drive to closure.
  • Knowledge of reliability requirements and processes.
  • Cross-functional integration skills.
  • Demonstrated team / project leadership skills to include project planning, and team building.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Safety, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering or similar field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant engineering experience in Power or Battery Storage Systems in a design, systems, field operations, or product safety capacity
