Job Description Summary

The Outages Quality Manager leads and supports the advanced field service outages quality planning activities for the Nuclear P&L Service projects in close collaboration with the horizontal quality team, the project team and with customer representatives.

Job Description

Primary Activities Scope Globally applicable to all Outages Quality Manager roles within the Outages Quality organization.

Main Duties

• Improve customer satisfaction and reduce cost of poor quality through application of advanced quality tools.

• Support Tendering team during ITO phase for quotation in all quality aspects, including regulations, ensure inspection and quality program are provided.

• Establish close collaboration within the horizontal project quality team (Project Quality, Supplier Quality, internal partners -engineering- and suppliers, workshop).

• Be the Quality interface to customer and internal partner, participate in customer quality meetings on his/her scope.

• Contribute to the improvement of the Quality Management System.

• Ensure cascading of contract requirements all along the outages.

• Ensure quality requirements are managed during the outages execution and reports any deviation against the contract or GE procedures.

• Be involved in witness points definition and quality requirements with the customer/third party, and participate if needed to the set-up of customer follow-up documents.

• Support teams during the outages preparation and the outages readiness reviews

• Coordinate NCR management as ordering unit with due diligence, being accountable for data integrity as verifier until closure.

• Follow-up and communication on outages non conformities, track Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) records and analysis.

• Support and lead root cause analysis in the project, such as 8D, PSR, 5Why, etc.

• Support when required the end of outages files.

• Ensure the requirements of Nuclear Safety are compliantly managed in the project, including the ITNS activities identification.

• Support CX - Customer Experience survey (or Customer satisfaction survey) capture and analysis.

• Support CFSI capture and analysis.

• Support capture of best practices and Lessons Learned across the project. Supports the Lessons Learned process application.

• Perform internal audits.

Responsibilities

• Interface and liaise with the Customer for any Outages quality issues and coordinates relevant action plans within the Project.

• Ensure that relevant process and controls are in place.

• Improve Customer Satisfaction and supports reduction of CoPQ through the application of Lean tools.

Authority

• Drive the culture change to increase Customer satisfaction, to decrease CoPQ and effectiveness of the processes.

• Address a Stop the work if Quality or Safety is at risk.

• Perform audit or quality assurance tasks at Customers sites.

• Propose improvement actions to increase the effectiveness of the processes.

Required Competencies

Education

• Engineering/science degree from university or equivalent

• Industrial background

Experience

• Industrial experience in Quality and a similar role, preferably in a Nuclear environment

• Background in non conformities management

• Experience in quality assurance activities on outage(s), physically at Customer site(s)

• Quality assurance and control experience or qualifications will be a plus

Behavioural and/or Technical Know-how

• Customer-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities

• Team player with capacity for synthesis and strong oral and written communication skills

• Quality skills

• 8D problem resolution, FMEA and other quality tools

• Ability to deliver effective presentations at all levels of the organization

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Ability to influence cross-functional business teams and drive quality improvements

• Ability to travel regularly

• Trained Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent knowledge of the applicable tools a plus

• Qualified as Internal Auditor for ISO9001 and ISO19443 a plus

Language skills

• Strong oral and written English and Chinese communication skills to communicate with involved stakeholders, both internal and external. For some contracts and product lines activities, French will be a plus.
