Material Planner - Rotors (f/m/d)

Job Description Summary

The Material Planner is working in the Materials Management Team as a key link between Fulfillment, Operations, Planning, Engineering and Procurement functions. He/she enables timely delivery of materials and documentation to the production, considering inventory and WIP of the factory, while also contributing to the scheduling and planning of the manufacturing. This role is involved from the first step of the fulfilment process of a project until the last milestone, therefore MRP controller is a key contributor to OTD.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the project status and compare with master schedule - proactive initiation of corrective actions in case of deviations from master plan. That includes setting up task-force meetings with production stakeholders, creating and implementing new projects plan and - if necessary - the reporting of those plans.
  • Ensure timely release of technical documents; Act as SPOC (single point of contact) with product engineering; Assign production engineering with the master data preparation.
  • Creation of purchase requisitions for all project relevant parts and consequently tracking of an on-time delivery of those purchased components
  • Maintain, control and ensure correct SAP & APS relevant master data structure including proactive measurements.
  • Scheduling, preparation and conduction of customer witness points
  • Handling of transport duties to suppliers of GE Vernova Birr - both inland and abroad.
  • Organizing and managing the external supplier jobs in Rotor factory
  • Inventory Management.
  • Disposition of NCR decisions in production
  • Supports Fulfillment Leader(s) in customer care - works on Customer satisfaction, understands demand trends and supports proposal giving.
  • Leads simple, straightforward process improvement projects related to Materials & Manufacturing

Required Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship in the field of engineering, material management or manufacturing control
  • Any additional education or experience in the field of material and supply chain management
  • Basic knowledge of Generator production or similar industrial production
    Experience with ERP systems (SAP), particularly in the areas of production planning, scheduling, MRP and inventory managements
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and web-based applications
  • Language skills: fluent in English & German
