In the role of MMS (Market Management System) Technical Lead you will play a critical role in the successful implementation of MMS projects. By combining your technical expertise and leadership skills, you will collaborate with customers, cross-functional GEV teams and key suppliers to deliver successful project outcomes. Working closely with the Delivery Manager (DM) and Project Manager (PM), you will manage technical risks, tackle complex challenges through effective problem-solving and provide expert technical direction and mentorship to the GEV implementation team, ensuring the delivery of high quality solutions within project timelines.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership of the delivery and implementation of large complex electrical utility solutions including hands-on execution through software development.
  • Manage GEV project team and activities to design and deliver project solutions to meet agreed customer requirements.
  • Work with the Delivery Manager through close coordination for scope management, schedule, risk management, and quality management.
  • Communicate effectively with DM, Project Manager, Customer and Project team (APAC and global) on project and technical items such as project status, risks and mitigation, scope, and issues.
  • Utilize software delivery performance measurement tools and indicators (e.g. Jira burndown charts)
  • Validate project scope review in coordination with the Solution Design team identifying, documenting, and estimating any change requests (CR) or project risks with mitigation plans. Work with DM and PM to communicate with customer.
  • Work with DM to report or resolve any process non-conformances in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a smooth transfer to maintenance at project end.
  • Examine, define and prioritize Business, Functional and non-functional requirements and processes and propose technical solutions to meet the business issues and close inefficiency gaps.
  • Participate & lead technical discussions, including requirements workshops.
  • Write and present technical proposals and presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline from an accredited university or college
  • Proven experience in a senior technical consultancy role within the electrical utility industry especially with OT technologies such as any of MMS, EMS, DMS, OMS solutions.
  • Experience with energy & ancillary services markets such as DA & RT is a plus. High level understanding of market systems solution from an OT standpoint is desirable.
  • 8- 10 years related work experience leading engineering teams implementing a suite of products and engaging directly with customers
  • Agile mindset and ability to work with one or more Scrum Teams (Region and Global team) to execute and deliver solutions for our customers.
  • Good understanding of DevOps concepts, such as automated builds, automated deployments and automated tests, to consult customers and apply those concepts to your daily deliverables.
  • Required to meet and show up at customer's Taipei office every week.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software development practices, languages, and tools.
  • Familiar with project testing such as Factory acceptance test (FAT), Site acceptance test (SAT) and user acceptance test (UAT).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and consultancy skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to progress simultaneous, high-profile, high-priority issues.
  • Thoroughly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, motivate and influence others.
