Job Description Summary
The Manager of Shop Operations (MSO) - Bundle Assembly is the leader of a team responsible for the assembly of nuclear fuel bundles for commercial nuclear power plants. In close partnership with our Fuel Manufacturing Operation (FMO) safety, quality and technical teams, the MSO will provide strategic focus and leadership for FMO's Fuel Bundle Assembly team. Additionally, the MSO will coordinate FMO's Plant Fulfillment activities, including forecasting and plant production control. The MSO will frequently interface with suppliers, partners, regulators, and customers.

Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you are accountable for a safe and compliant workplace, a strong product quality culture, and overall manufacturing operations. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead an organization of salaried and hourly employees.
- Lead a strong nuclear safety and EHS compliance culture with emphasis on employee involvement. Ensure work tasks are performed in accordance with current regulatory guides and industry standards.
- Be fully compliant with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Special Nuclear Material (SNM) license per 10CFR Part 70. Qualify as area manager Bundle Assembly; assure performance of integrated safety analyses for FMO product lines.
- Lead a strong quality culture compliant to the Quality Management System. Support strict safety and quality requirements, including participation in Wilmington Safety Review Council (WSRC) reviews, initiating, and responding to Condition Reports (CRs), etc.
- Coordinate FMO's Plant Fulfillment activities, including long term forecast integration and planning, and plant production control.
- Partner with commercial and sourcing teams to meet cost and inventory goals for FMO products.
- Achieve production and budget commitments with superior product quality and high customer satisfaction.
- Plan, organize, and manage delivery of production. Ensure sufficient capacity exists to achieve all customer commitments. Support product line upgrade projects and equipment support work.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing.
- Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in compliance, nuclear safety, EHS, customer service, quality, and productivity.
- Embrace Human Performance (HU) processes, ensure ongoing evolution of observation programs and training plans to maximize workforce capability. Be a visible leader and participant for a robust observation program.
- Champion positive employee relations. Schedule and conduct roundtable meetings; foster employee engagement and ensure that operational goals and team performance are effectively communicated to employees.
- Support the development of manufacturing operations and leadership talent and depth.
- Promote team morale, inclusion, diversity, involvement/ownership, operational skills, and quality at the source (QATS).
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus at least five (5) years of supervisory or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other technical field. Of that experience, at least one (1) year of experience must be in a supervisory/managerial position.
OR
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus at least seven (7) years of supervisory or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other technical field. Of that experience, at least three (3) years of experience must be in a supervisory/managerial position.
OR
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus at least ten (10) years of supervisory or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other technical field. Of that experience, at least five (5) years of experience must be in a supervisory/managerial position.
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to cover off-shifts, as the manager of a continuous rotation operation.
- Ability to wear protective clothing and a respirator in accordance with site requirements.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times during the day. Ability to climb stairs, move around and under manufacturing equipment.
- Must be 18 years or older and have legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Desired Characteristics
- At least one (1) year of experience in nuclear operations
- BS/BA in a technical field
- Nuclear plant operations or services experience
- Mechanical or ceramics engineering experience
- Knowledge of nuclear fuel manufacturing
- Experience working in Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulated environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and proven track record of implementation
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and develop others to do the same
- Demonstrated ability to establish and deploy strategy in the form of simple priorities through a layered organization
- Experience with production planning and control, long range forecasting and demand planning. Ability to interpret engineering documentation, such as P & IDs
- Experience in manufacturing or nuclear procedure and training development.
- Proven ability to create real and positive change.
- Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
- Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification
- GE Program graduate, e.g., OMLP, EEDP (GE employees only).
The base pay range for this position is $110-125k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 9/12/2025.
