Job Description Summary

The manager for Fuel Cycle Analysis Team will work within the Fuels Engineering team of Global Nuclear Fuel - Americas (GNF) a GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) business. The Fuel Cycle Analysis Team is responsible creating efficient fuel bundle and core designs to support existing fleet customers and manufacturing with a focus on fuel reliability. Develop new products and tools and maintain economic competitiveness through fuel cycle analysis. Support asset enhancement projects such as power uprates (EPU), thermal power optimization (TPO) and extended flow operations (MELLLA+). Support the management of a diverse team that focuses on fuel application, thermal hydraulic technology and advanced nuclear design.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • The manager of Fuel Cycle Analysis Team will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.
  • Support the development of technical talent and depth within the team
  • Provide leadership, resources and training needed to assure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines
  • Support the development, maintenance and control of the licensing and design bases and improvement of analysis processes (including procedures)
  • Interface with project management and direct resources to execute to defined project work schedules and priorities.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Interface with internal customers, external customers and the NRC on technical issues.
  • Act as a leader in company / business initiatives
  • Support GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and responding to Condition Reports, identifying and providing needed training and mentoring, and maintaining adequate levels of qualified personnel
  • Support the team through emergent issue response to support our customers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical or similar) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a technology or engineering role
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in commercial nuclear engineering

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The preferred work location is the Wilmington, NC Headquarters but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous technical leadership experience or ownership in key technical areas
  • Experience in bundle and core design & licensing
  • Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering or Science Discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Working knowledge of applied statistical framework of nuclear reactor core and fuel licensing, technical specifications, safety margin basis, and related Federal Regulations.
  • Knowledge of nuclear analysis processes and the related interfaces between the GE Energy - Nuclear businesses
  • Demonstrated high energy and the ability to energize others.
  • Team player with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Self-start with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Legacy of delivering on commitments; tenacious, with a proven track record of overcoming obstacles.
  • Ability to achieve stretch targets.

The base pay range for this position is $128,000 to $190,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday, August 1st.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
