Job Description Summary
The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for driving quality at GE Vernova Wind suppliers by implementing comprehensive quality plans. This role includes selecting suppliers through supplier approval process and leads Production Part Approval Process for serial production, as well as managing supplier performance using detailed scorecards. The engineer will also oversee supplier audits, ensuring compliance and spearheading improvement initiatives as necessary.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development. Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.
- Ability to manage vendors.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings.
- Provide quality and technical expertise for the assigned commodity.
- Develop & implement best practices and standardization for the commodity, across the organization.
- Lead periodic supplier audits and drive resolution of corrective actions.
- Assume ownership & support resolution for quality issues, including management of Supplier Non-conformances and deviation requests.
- Focal point for field issues, escaping defects & supplier quality issues.
- Provide support for sourcing quality metrics & strategy.
- Identify needs & develop strategy for systemic sourcing quality issues.
- Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) plans, process /product verification efforts, quality system audits and supplier surveillance program where needed.
- Lead process improvement and supplier improvement activities.

Required Qualifications
- This role requires advanced experience in the Sourcing & Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college specialized in Mechanical Engineering or similar (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and internationally up to 40% of the time.

- Quality training and/or related work experience (ISO 9001, TS 16949)
- Strong capabilities on Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Error Proofing, Measurement System Analysis and Statistical process control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Root Cause Analysis training in a recognized methodology (8D, PSR, RCA or equivalent)
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent quality certification
- Ability to work in a cross-functional and global team environment.
- Prior experience in developing and leading audits
