Job Description Summary

Individuals will generally either be located at, and only support, a specific site or project (including construction), or have a role that requires specific industry/business expertise or interaction with specific business customers.

This category will include those EHS professionals involved in "designing for EHS" (NPI), individuals responsible for customer or industry engagement, and EHS professionals working at customer sites or projects (generally not managing teams of EHS professionals or regions).

Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • The position will report to the Repair Shop Manager day-to-day basis and it will have an operational direction from the GE Vernova Repairs Value Stream EHS leader.
  • Lead all business requests related to EHS, SECURITY, HOUSEKEEPING and FACILITIES management, serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and customers.
  • Serve as the owner of the Business Continuity plan and Safety Response specific to the repair shop operations.
  • Understand Federal, State, and Local occupational safety, environment, and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes as they occur.
  • Drive business EHS and SECURITY goals, programs, and processes, both regulatory and corporate, to meet business objectives and support GE Vernova's strategic initiatives.
  • Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices, applying knowledge in accident prevention, inspection procedures, accident investigation and reporting, FW standard work, risk management, hazard recognition techniques, LOTO procedures, hazardous materials, and process chemistry.
  • Develop, improve, and implement EHS programs and processes, including Safety Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, Management of Change, High Risk Operations, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental programs (air, stormwater, wastewater, waste), Training, Emergency Preparedness and Fire Protection, Radiation Safety, and Chemical Management, adhering to business, company, and regulatory policy. Also LEAN practices related to Safety are a must.
  • Collaborate with local shop leaders and various departments such as Engineering, Communications, Medical, HR and global EHS leaders to effectively implement, modify, and revise EHS requirements.
  • Manage EHS training plans, facilitate training sessions, and ensure delivery of EHS training as needed.
  • Ensure successful security leadership to sustain business operations and protect employees, assets, and proprietary information.
  • Ensure successful housekeeping leadership to sustain business operations.
  • Coordinate meetings of workers and management regarding the environment, safety and health (EHS Committee).
  • Promote policy compliance and decision-making based on risk analysis, tailored to the repair shop environment.
  • Support other functional areas, such as Maintenance, Sourcing or HR, in special activities as needed.

What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, EHS Engineering, or equivalent Engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a repair shop or similar industrial environment, with a strong background in building security, facilities management and housekeeping management.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in managing EHS risks within the repair shop context, including Ergonomics, Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy programs, Safety Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, Management of Change, High Risk Operations, and Industrial Hygiene.
  • Experience in project management, leading multi-disciplinary teams, connecting with stakeholders, problem analysis and resolution, strategic thinking, and change management.
  • Strong bilingual communication skills, written and oral (English and Spanish).
  • Demonstrated transparency and adherence to Compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Legal right to work in Mexico.

Candidate must have proof of tax situation (Constancia de Situación Fiscal) to be considered for employment.
