GE Vernova is accelerating the path to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, while helping our customers power economies and deliver the electricity that is vital to health, safety, security, and improved quality of life. Are you excited at the opportunity to electrify and decarbonize the world?
What impact you'll make
As a Lead Specialist - SCADA and Wind Control Systems in the Fleet Software Solutions team, you will be an active contributor to key business priorities including operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will support department objectives by ensuring reliable system performance, facilitating effective post-sales support, and driving collaboration across teams to enhance service delivery and customer outcomes.
Job Description
What you'll do
- Own the resolution of post-sales technical customer issues across Level 1, 2, and 3 Technical Support. As the complexity of the issue increases, so does the required skill level. Depending on the product, a single individual may handle all three levels, or these may be distributed among different specialists with increasing expertise.
- Support installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of site SCADA, Wind Control, turbine control software, and related systems. Knowledge of the site's local network infrastructure is advantageous.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, leveraging prior experience and acquired expertise to implement policies and strategies effectively.
- Collaborate with contractor resources within the team to execute tasks and provide technical guidance as necessary.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of key business drivers, using this insight to accomplish personal tasks efficiently. Understand how the team's work integrates with other departments and contributes to overall objectives.
- Exercise judgment and propose solutions beyond standard procedures when appropriate, with guidance. Utilize prior experience and on-the-job training to resolve straightforward issues. Access technical skills and analytical thinking to solve problems, drawing on multiple internal sources beyond the immediate team when required.
What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, or similar).
- Previous hands-on experience with SCADA systems and WindControl software.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Europe - approximately 30% of the time annually.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Fluency in Spanish will be a plus.
What will make you stand out
- Strong analytical mindset with proven troubleshooting experience and high attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively document, plan, and execute technical programs or projects.
- Team-oriented attitude with a collaborative approach to achieving business goals.
