Job Description Summary
The Lead Project Manager-Close Out is expected to deliver and close projects in the Grid Automation (Protection, SAS, Telecom, Monitoring & Diagnostics, Services, etc.) within the electrical transmission and distribution industry across Saudi Arabia. He will take over the responsibility of the project after being executed to make sure that snag list is professionally handled, the customer Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) is obtained, the warranty is expired, and the project is totally technically and financially closed ensuring to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and maximum margin/value with clear focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC).
The Lead Project Manager-Close Out need to be highly alerted about Safety first then about the project constraints: Scope, Schedule & Cost, in addition to Quality all the way long, with high level of communications with all stakeholders to make sure the project objectives are met during the close out phase, keeping his eyes open to all potential risks and opportunities, registering it all and sharing his return of experience as required.

The Lead Project Manager-Close Out is a proactive leader, self-motivated, organized and real contributor to the business revenues and margins, operating efficiently and accurately from providing forecasts (Sales, Cash, Margin, VO, etc.) to achieving it in the committed dates. He will need to work effectively across internal functions and lead all the communications externally. He will also be expected to support tendering functions, and other peers, who may be less experienced in the PM requirements and/or the technicalities of Grid Automation portion.
Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
• Project execution (from internal handover to project closing).
• Be the prime customer contact for closing the contract/project.
• Execute Projects in collaboration with EHS, engineering department, contract admin, contract management, finance, procurement & other support functions
• Be accountable for accurate forecasting related to project closure.
• Follow project management best practices (as per Project Management Handbook and specific Product line instructions), including specific focus on transfer review, project gates reviews and project close-out.
• Monthly update on action plan progress, sales and cash forecasts.
• Preparation and presentation of project reviews.
• Contribute to EHS plan, operation department development & unit continuous improvements
• Lead EHS/safety actions and performance by being fully compliant with GE rules and processes, ensure project teams (own and subcontracted) are properly trained and holders of required qualifications when required.
• Follow GE compliance Policies ('The Spirit and The Letter') and promote open reporting
• Support Commercial team by return of experience, optimizing project costs & deliveries.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Bachelor's Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university
• 5 Yeas experience in project management or contract management or site management.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certified would be an advantage.
• Master's in business administration or project management or similar degree from an accredited university would be advantageous.
• Significant experience in electric substations engineering and site commissioning works.
• knowledge about the Saudi grid automation market, end users and EPC's.
• Has a proactive approach towards challenges.
• Speaks English fluently.
