Job Description Summary

The Lead Wind Fleet Engineer will provide technical engineering solutions to field technicians, internal functions including engineering and supply chain, and customers. The Wind Fleet Engineer will analyze and improve the availability and power performance of the Americas installed fleet.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Engineering Solutions / Repairs / Escalation for issues that have been problematic and escalated from Services team
  • Work with first level support to proactively identify failure trend in an early phase and to initiate corrective actions
  • Provide technical supervision for retrofits and validation of performance increase
  • Lead the Functional Technical Support during Root Cause Analysis (RCA) programs
  • Lead productivity improvements within Customer Solutions and across the Wind business
  • Lead development of proactive technical solutions to prevent issues prior to becoming large business cost drivers
  • Lead executive-level internal and external stakeholder reviews and technical discussions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 3 years professional work experience (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Troubleshooting Wind Turbines, and Controls.

Desired Characteristics

  • Wind turbine industry experience
  • Experience with generator, electrical, and/or controls functions of a turbine

  • Ability to present technical data in a succinct and clear manner
  • Technical Versatility, experience with wind turbine production and performance
  • Ability to learn technology outside of one's specialty
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Distinctive ability to analyze technical processes, experience with working turbine parameter variances
  • Green Belt certification or equivalent Quality certification
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to make decisions and to adopt responsibility
  • Strong quality awareness and ability to identify future failures, defects and problems
  • Ability to work with multicultural teams, strong team player
  • Ability to work within structured work methods
  • High flexibility and motivation
  • Willingness to climb turbines when necessary, ability to work at heights
  • Ability to drive complex projects / issues to completion / elimination

The base pay range for this position is $98,400.00 - $164,000.000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation of 10%. This posting is expected to close no earlier than May 30, 2025.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
