Lead Engineer - Control Systems - Steam Turbine Division

Job Description Summary

As a member of the Steam turbine control Systems team, you will be an active contributor in developing control systems specifications & Design documents, Application Software logic & HMI development for PLC / DCS control systems, for Turbine Generator applications.

Job Description

Your Role/Responsibilities

  • Performing design and develop documents like Controls system Architecture drawings, IO List, Functional Control Description, Control Logic Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, PLC / DCS Installation Design document during ITO (Tendering) and OTR (Execution) phase of projects.
  • Developing or Validating Control system Application Software logic on PLC/DCS/ Turbine control system Platform including HMI / SCADA.
  • Interface with suppliers for preliminary costing, component selection, and submittal document review
  • Understand and assess customer problems and determine appropriate means of solution, Interface with customers for resolving queries on submitted Controls & Instrumentation designs documents.
  • Participate in HAZOP meetings with internal teams and customers.
  • Support plant commissioning.
  • Proactively follow-up & do the input management to track and trace documents and material through the document management team, expediting team.
  • Participate in design review and design freeze meeting and ensure the corrective actions defined by the design review are closed on time.
  • Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other engineering activities / disciplines.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation and control, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Min 4+ year of experience in controls systems Engineering design and programming of Power Plants/Oil & Gas/ Petro- Chemical Plants

- Application Logic and HMI development experience on Yokogawa CentumVP/ABB Symphony DCS Platforms and/or Rockwell/GE-Rx3i PLCs

- Strong technical and scientific know-how and willingness to continuously extend and develop it,

- Basic Knowledge of power plant and its sub-components

- Ability to travel extensively in support of assignments

Desired Characteristics

- Thorough knowledge of Control system Networks and protocols, e.g.: Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus, OPC etc.

- Passion for technology and automation, Knowledge on Software development platforms like Python/C++.

- Strong interpersonal and responsive skills
