Job Description

As a Lead Electrical Auxiliary Distribution System Engineer, you will report to the LV Engineering Manager and will be part of a highly motivated and dynamic team of engineers working on the requirement, design, integration, installation, and commissioning of HVDC and AC Control and Protection System.

Electrical Auxiliary System covers, among others:

• Power distribution cables sizing and calculation note
• LV/MV Switchgears
• Auxiliary transformers sizing, technical specifications and calculation note
• Diesel Generator
• Battery Storage System, including rectifier and inverters
• Current Busducts

You will be responsible for delivering the overall technical solution that meets customer Requirements.

This includes the following activities:

  • Auxiliary services Requirements flow-down from Project global requirements.
  • Prepare Load list, SLD (Single Line Diagrams), Sizing notes for LV cables and Power equipment (Inverters, transformers,...), Auxiliary Services philosophy principle, Technical specifications, Signal list, ...
  • Interface with equipment supplier and reviewing in-house designs and those produced by external contractors and analyse a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports.
  • Coordinate with Suppliers and ensure delivery of detailed design documentation for the Auxiliary systems. This may include as example:
    • Schematics
    • Test Specifications and Test Reports
    • General Assembly drawings
    • Bill of Materials
  • Oversee the testing and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) witnessing within manufacturer facility or site whenever needed.
  • Assist site activities relevant to the installation and commissioning.
  • Ensure that design activities are undertaken by competent personnel and sub-contractors reviewing designs created by others, delivering appropriate lead, guiding and coaching.
  • Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
  • Prepare replies to customer comments on technical submittals in coordination with project management.
  • Attend, as needed, meetings with customers/contractors/consultants/suppliers for technical discussions.
  • Manage a small team of designers, provide technical guidance and mentoring as necessary•
  • Ensure regular reporting of his/her activities status to project and management team.

Required Qualifications :

  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years minimum experience in an EPC project environment in the T&D, Power Gen, or Oil & Gas industries.
  • Solid experience in Auxiliary power equipment and services (Power cabinets, cabling, interfaces ..) specification, design, integration and commissioning, preferably in Medium or High voltage substation or power plant environments
  • Experience with engineering design tools such: Caneco BT, Engineering Base, Dig Silent, ...
  • Motivated to evolve in an international environment & recognizes himself in our key values.
  • Good leadership, listening and communication skills.
  • Capability to manage technically small team of designers•
  • Willing to travel for team, project and customer meetings when needed (~10% of time)
  • Language: English
