Job Description Summary
Manufacturing engineer with responsibility for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving GE MkVIe Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for the chemical and ceramics production areas within the Fuel Manufacturing Operation. Also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of process historians and software configuration maintenance and the associated license management for the various programming software platforms. Responsible for the design, maintenance, and improvement of industrial controls, including loop sheet creation and maintenance, electrical schematics, and maintenance troubleshooting support.
Relocation to Wilmington, NC is required.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Understanding of the assigned manufacturing processes to support maintenance and operations troubleshooting.
- MkVIe troubleshooting, maintenance, and code improvements to support business needs.
- PLC troubleshooting, maintenance, and code improvements to support business needs.
- Management of PLC software licenses and associated software configuration management.
- Management of Process historian hardware, software, and tags.
- Creation, modification, support of industrial controls including hardware specification and loop sheet and electrical schematic creation and maintenance.
- Provide operational oversight and training support for operators and maintenance of control systems.
- Support 24/7 manufacturing operation, including emergency response, and scheduled projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with PLC's and/or Distributed Control Systems.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with industrial controls and the associated documentation.
Eligibility Requirements
- Relocation to Wilmington, NC is required.
- For Controlled Access Area: must be able to successfully pass a Nuclear Safety Training Test; follow strict radiation protection, criticality, and industrial safety regulations; wear protective clothing to enter the area.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
Desired Qualifications
- BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with GE (now Emerson) PLC's.
- Experience with GE MkVIe.
- Experience with PI Process Historian.
- Experience with GE (now Emerson) License Server.
- Experience with software configuration/change management.
- Experience supporting 24/7 chemical/manufacturing processes.
- Ability to develop creative solutions for complex, challenging issues.
- Ability to explain complex issues to a non-technical audience.
- Positive track record of experience resolving technical issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence others.
