Job Description Summary
The Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for leading the development of commercial proposals and collaborating with various functions to define the most effective winning strategy for assigned deals. They oversee all aspects of the proposal, including cost structure, pricing, cash flow, tax implications, currency fluctuations, risk mitigation, and contract terms. In close partnership with the Sales organization, their primary goal is to secure deals that strike the right balance between risk and reward for the business.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Formulates and executes proposal strategy and sales agreements.
- Formulates deal structure, pricing, proposal development.
- Assists in customer negotiations. Identifies new opportunities with functional partners to develop new products and services for business growth. Utilizes Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve proposal process. This is a hybrid role only to be used when both sales origination and commercial proposal activities are ongoing duties of roughly equal importance. If not, use another distinct area of work.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of sales territory, product lines, markets, sales processes or customer groups. Uses prior experience and acquired commercial expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Most decisions are within a defined framework, but some autonomy in the final decisions for a project, product line, market, sales process or customers. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor, with proven interpersonal skills. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered. Provides informal guidance to new team members. Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations.

Required Qualifications
- This role requires advanced experience in the Sales & Sales and Proposal.
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Experience working with Energy, O&G and/or Mining/Metals market segments
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English language

- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
