The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (typically annual volume, margin and compliance requirements). Responsible for medium-sized sales territories.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, costing, etc.) for Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drive Systems across various industries including but not limited to O&G/Petrochemicals, Metals, Power, Mining etc as part of the Inquiry To Order (tendering) process while interfacing with the commercial team.
  • Deliver high quality technical proposals including Comments/Exceptions to the customer specifications that make the proposals more accepted (compliant or clarified), effective, and cost competitive to the customer with reduced overall-performance risk.
  • Proposal must be clear, provide value to customer, and demonstrate how GE meets their specification requirement.
  • Support the Sales team to promote GE's solutions to customers by presenting GE's product portfolio and its value additions to customers.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of relevant markets and key CTQs that would ultimately help win bids.
  • Has knowledge of best practices; is aware of the competition offerings and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers.
  • Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Be able to independently drive the proposal preparation with minimum guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience)

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong engineering or technical sales or field services background in MV Variable Frequency Drives is preferred
