Dynamic and results-oriented HVDC NPI (New Product Introduction) Leader with a proven track record of successfully managing the complete product lifecycle from concept to market launch.
The HVDC PDG NPI Leader will be responsible for the management and delivery of NPI programs and ensure that properly industrialised products and systems are delivered in line with the R&D roadmap. This includes converter valves, converter stations, control & protection systems. Reporting to the HVDC PDG (Product Delivery Group) Leader, the role will drive successful delivery of the NPI portfolio through management, planning and follow up on performance goals to meet the business expectations. This person will ensure that the teams have the tools, resources, and skills needed to deliver effectively. In addition, the role will drive the portfolio of continuous improvement actions across the NPI organisation, with a specific focus on quality, on-time delivery and costs.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- NPI portfolio management - Own the process. Ensure adherence and rigour to the defined processes.
- Drive the R&D roadmap and budget process (MGPP) and the connection to the Strategic Growth Plan (SGP) for the HVDC business, GSI (Grid Systems Integration) Business Line and GE Vernova.
- Focus on industrialisation - Coordination with CTO (Chief Technology Office) for new technologies and driving industrialisation between NPI, Solution Owners, Product Care and other Functions / Stakeholders, with clear deliverables to internal / external customers.
- Lead the community of NPI program managers and Principal Engineers. Carry out competency assessments, plan and implement development actions as well as a prompt succession planning.
- Ensure detailed execution plans are in place for all NPI programs with clear alignment to delivery requirements and measurable progress results.
- Process improvement of the NPI delivery models, ensuring alignment with the GEV Grid Solutions NPI process and all cross-functional coordination.
- Support budget management across the NPI organisation, providing clarity on targets and regular monitoring.
- Support the NPI resourcing strategy, ensuring competencies are aligned to the demands.
- Develop best practices across the NPI programs, ensure robust technical gate reviews and governance are in place.
- Co-ordinated reporting and status updates of programs deliverables through weekly flash reports and monthly governance meetings.
- Actively seek opportunities to create connections with internal and external R&D partners whilst developing existing relationships to seek external funding for R&D activities.
- Ensure meeting the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) relevant to NPI programs and explore possibilities of lead time improvement / cost-out.
Qualifications / Key Requirements:
- Engineering degree: Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering. Master's or PhD with a focus on power systems, power electronics highly preferred.
- Extensive HVDC experience (10-15 years), with expertise in HVDC control systems.
- Experience to lead and motivate large, cross-functional teams. This includes setting a clear vision, delegating effectively, and holding teams accountable for results.
- Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering NPI programs.
- Proficient in applying Agile principles to drive product development and accelerate time-to-market.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage technical risks (Knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA).
- Knowledge of Lean and its application in an Engineering environment. Facilitating improvement workshops.
- Able to work to deadlines under challenging situations whilst maintaining the safety, quality and engineering integrity of the solutions.
- Extensive experience of the development lifecycle and common methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
