Job Description Summary

The Global Wind Projects EHS Advisor will play a critical role in enhancing and enforcing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards across GE Vernova's Wind Projects organization by ensuring consistent execution of EHS programs and standards within Projects. With their primary purpose to promote a safe working environment and minimize risks associated with Wind project across various countries and continents, this position is critical developing and implementing strategic EHS initiatives. Reporting directly to the Global EHS Leader for Wind, the role will work closely with the Global Projects Leader to ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained. By implementing effective EHS policies, the EHS Projects Advisor directly contributes to the organization's overall objectives, helping to foster a culture of safety and compliance that enhances productivity and protects the well-being of employees.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic EHS initiatives, aligned with Wind EHS strategies, aimed at accident prevention and mitigation across projects - bring every employee and contractor working for projects, safe back home and reduce Incident & Injury Rate, number of Level A & B recordables, number of PSEs.
  • Serve as a key liaison with senior projects leaders on EHS matters, providing regular updates on performance, metrics, challenges and compliance status.
  • Lead the rollout of EHS programs and initiatives across all projects/regions in conjunction with the Regional EHS Leads to ensure a consistent and disciplined approach to EHS.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to integrate EHS objectives in day-to-day operations. Champion the roll out of the lifesaving rules across Wind Projects and seamlessly integrating regional compliance requirements.
  • Lead efforts in risk assessment and management, safety assurance, and audits ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of potential EHS hazards to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with regional EHS Leaders to ensure adequate resources in required locations with relevant skills and experience.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to projects leadership to champion a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Work with Projects Leadership to develop and implement leadership engagement strategy and plan/checklist for visiting leadership to use as a tool to reinforce EHS compliance and raise EHS awareness
  • Collaborates with Projects and EHS COE to streamline processes and improve safety performance across the board.
  • Lead, in partnership with Projects operational leaders, Level A, B and PSE incident investigations, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Point of contact for EHS concerns, promoting a culture of safety within the organization. They collaborate with various departments to ensure that safety measures are integrated into daily operations and that employees are well-informed about safety protocols.
  • Engage with key contractor leaders on EHS priorities and drive alignment for contractor roles and responsibilities in ensuring safe work execution (e.g. Life Saving Rule integration).
  • Work with project and site teams to understand concerns with key contractor, as well as collaborate to problem solve current and future issues.
  • Regularly interact across regional EHS teams to ensure alignment and performance assurance trends.
  • Travel 50-60% international and domestic.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or EHS related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in EHS management or executing EHS programs in the renewable energy sector.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record in leading EHS initiatives in a multinational, multicultural environment.
  • Projects and/or Field experience desired.
  • Strong understanding of global EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.


The base pay range for this position is $147,900.00 - $246,500.00 USD Annual USD Annual USD Annual USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation of 15%. This posting is expected to close no earlier than June 10, 2025.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
