Job Description

The NSD (Near Shore Diversification) buyer intern will play a crucial role in supporting the company's localization / Supplier Diversification strategy in America region largely focusing on mid-west USA and Latin America countries.

Candidate is expected to contribute in developing road-map of additional $ 100 M for next 2 years by identifying right commodity and supplier mix, working with cross-functional team (Engineering, MPE, DLE, SQE, Lean, Should Cost and Global Commodity Leaders) located in USA, Hungary, France, India and part of Asia demonstrating ONE TEAM [GEV principal].

Candidate shall also partner with Global NSD leader on developing localization road-map for USA considering up-surge in business volume addressing CUSTOMER's requirement of localization.

Candidate is expected to work during normal working hours respecting global time zone and is expected to travel within USA and Latina America to develop qualification project pipeline and conducting LEAN / Kaizen work-out to improve delivery or quality performance of targeted supplier.

Candidate shall get exposure to various systems and tools like PLM, Sourcing 360, Tableau (BuyToPay), Supplier Connect, eSQA, SourceGate+ for daily operation management. Candidate is expected to understand technical and quality requirements of parts / components to identify right supplier for the same.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.

Other Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without company sponsorship.

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $36.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.

This position is also eligible for:

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
  • GE Vernova Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
