Job Description Summary
The Transient Analysis Technical Leader will make immediate contributions working with an energetic, diverse team of engineers performing Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) transient analyses and thermal hydraulic analyses supporting a variety of applications. The position leads projects applying nuclear/thermal hydraulic methods, nuclear power plant operations and safety analyses, to demonstrate compliance with licensing requirements and to resolve emergent BWR plant problems.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership on a production-oriented engineering analysis team for all aspects of the engineering design process; including proposal development, planning, design performance, and release for customer delivery
- Ensure on-time delivery of thorough and accurate engineering technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations
- Identify and manage technical risk and assist in developing workable plans for engineering deliverables
- Resolve challenging emergent BWR operability issues
- Prepare, communicate, and present solutions to complex technical issues for internal and external customers
- Implement continual improvement of transient analysis work processes
- Provide expertise on engineering design reviews
- Provide technical mentoring to support transient analysis staff development and knowledge management

Required Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, or similar)
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a technology or engineering role
Eligibility Requirements:
- The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
Desired Characteristics:
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Senior Reactor Operator Certification.
- Relevant experience with BWR core simulation or thermal-hydraulic systems analysis (e.g. PANACEA, ODYN, TRACG, RELAP).
- Understanding of standard engineering work planning, scheduling, and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the application of engineering techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response.
- Extensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of nuclear engineering such as nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design, as applied to BWR.
- Experience with standard engineering work planning and design process techniques
- Collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
- Honesty and a high level of personal integrity.
- Demonstrated strong personal commitment, accountability, and determination.
- Ability to communicate with credibility and confidence.

The base pay range for this position is $112,000-160,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 6/6/2025.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
