Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Defining the physical configuration optimized to convert mechanical inputs that develops an electrical system energized to produce electricity.
    Addressing the configuration of electrical apparatus and systems, especially of main generators, of power electronics devices, switchgear, transformers, bus bars, cables, non-conducting materials and comprehensive system integration concepts.
  • LV/MV Drive Engineering - Product Engineering and Control cabinet design as per standards requirement.
  • Engage in VFD Sizing, part selection/ design change as required for the project .
  • Understand product / project specifications and realize requirements to design using calculations, modeling and simulations.
  • Design system/equipment to meet reliability, testing standards, manufacturability, material and cost guidelines
  • Prepare & validate Design documents - Configurations, principles of operation, application guidelines, specifications, BOM, SLD & drawings as per project and product requirement.
  • Verify functional performance of prototype hardware under all specified operating conditions.
  • Support Manufacturing of equipment at Factory / Vendor facility
    Document functional test requirements and conduct test according to applicable standards (UL/IEC/NEC etc....) /conduct project FAT's.
  • Coordinate with Lead Engineer and team Manager on product / project execution on a continuous basis.
  • May require travel to commission engineered projects as required.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Engineering/Technology & Electrical Component. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with 2 to 4 Years of experience).
  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at 2 to 4 Years of experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
