Job Description Summary

The Embedded Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing embedded software solutions to enhance product functionality and performance within product teams. This role involves collaborating across teams to boost software performance, applying SAFe process knowledge, understanding embedded software architectures, working with embedded hardware platforms such as AMD, TI, or Xilinx, engaging in Yocto development and product customization, developing Linux SDKs, designing and developing embedded operating systems, and utilizing Linux system containers. Additionally, the role includes testing embedded Linux components to ensure quality and performance.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded software solutions to optimize product functionality and performance.
  • Perform board bring-up and initial setup of embedded hardware platforms such as AMD, TI, or Xilinx.
  • Understand and apply embedded software architectures to enhance system design and efficiency.
  • Engage in Yocto development for embedded Linux systems and customize products to meet specific requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Linux SDKs to support application development on embedded platforms.
  • Utilize Linux system containers to enhance software deployment and scalability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize and integrate embedded systems for improved operating system performance.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of system maturity metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply SAFe process knowledge to enhance workflow management and team collaboration.
  • Maintain documentation on software processes and outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics and Communications, Computer Science, or Information Technology Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience in developing, integrating, and testing embedded Linux software components.
  • Hands-on experience in embedded software development, board bring-up processes, Yocto development, Linux SDK development, Linux system containers, and embedded Linux testing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages like Shell, Perl, or Python.
  • Knowledge and experience with embedded hardware platforms such as AMD, TI, or Xilinx.
  • Proven experience in embedded software development roles is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software design and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English speaker.
