The Director of Nuclear Training will lead the strategic development, execution, and continuous improvement of technical training programs across all nuclear product lines and service offerings at GE Vernova Hitachi. They will establish and build the technical training system (processes, tools, content, delivery mechanisms, and organization.) This individual will oversee internal training related to nuclear fuel production, engineering design, development and systems support, components, digital solutions, and field service operations. The Director ensures alignment with industry regulations, customer expectations, and emerging nuclear technologies, while building a high-performance training organization that supports operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement the global training strategy for GE Vernova Hitachi's employees, including BWR systems, fuels manufacturing, and next-gen reactor technologies (e.g., SMRs, advanced reactors).
- Align training objectives with business priorities, engineering updates, manufacturing process updates, product lifecycle changes, and beneficial contemporary training tools and approaches.
- Design, develop, and implement fundamental and technical training programs tailored to business goals.
- Partner with Vernova Talent Center of Excellence (COE) and key stakeholders to maximize integration points for synergy.
Program Development
- Oversee the design and delivery of SAT-based technical training for internal teams
- Ensure training programs meet industry standards (INPO, NRC, IAEA, ISO, CSA) and quality assurance requirements (e.g., 10 CFR 50 Appendix B).
- Lead initiatives for in-person, e-learning, virtual reality (VR), and digital simulation-based training to enhance delivery methods.
- Develop and improve operational processes to enhance the use of learning technology.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) critical to the L&D team's success.
- Utilize data-driven insights to drive continuous process improvements.
- Curate, manage, and continuously refine content to support fundamental and technical skills development.
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging and effective learning materials.
- Leverage innovative learning technologies (LMS, e-learning platforms, AI-driven solutions) to optimize training experiences.
- Establish and track key metrics to measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Align learning programs with career development pathways, ensuring relevance to industry trends and future workforce needs.
- Stay at the forefront of training methodologies and best practices to continuously enhance the value and impact of offerings.
Team Leadership
- Build and manage a diverse team of technical instructors, curriculum developers, and training managers.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence within the training organization.
- Establish clear performance indicators to monitor training effectiveness, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, promoting diversity in ideas, cohesion, and mutual support to drive organizational success.
- Lead employees in achieving the organization's productivity, quality, and strategic goals.
Regulatory Engagement
- Represent the company during audits, regulatory reviews, and industry benchmarking activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred).
- 15 years of experience in developing and delivering technical training programs in a corporate setting.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.

- Strong knowledge of regulatory and industry frameworks: NRC, INPO, IAEA, ASME, EPRI, etc.
- Deep understanding of the Kirkpatrick Model for learning evaluation and its practical application.

- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), digital learning tools, and emerging educational technologies.
- Strategic mindset with expertise in learning program design
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
