The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose:

Responsible for preparing technical offers for Electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP) and Protection systems.
Supports project execution by coordinating and tracking this scope through constant interaction with stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the responsible engineer:

  • Act as the focal point for the Commercial Team; participate in tendering strategy and planning.
  • Analyze customer requirements and assess alignment with the hydro portfolio (in coordination with the Commercial Operations team).
  • Ensure integration with other disciplines (generator, turbine, mBoP, etc.), coordinating interfaces and aligning on delivery dates to meet targets on time and with quality.
  • Interface with turbine, generator, and mBoP teams to correctly size the systems.
  • Prepare system architecture and single-line diagrams.
  • Prepare requests for quotation (RFQs) to be sent to suppliers.
  • Prepare the main deviation list.
  • Evaluate suppliers' technical offers.
  • Support the Commercial Team in customer-facing technical discussions and presentations.
  • Support global supply chain activities to ensure quality and fulfillment worldwide.
  • Drive innovation in the tendering process to improve delivery time, quality, and accuracy.
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute tasks across multiple technical tenders simultaneously.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in protection or power systems engineering.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Portuguese and English.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency with relevant engineering tools and systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a global, matrixed team environment.
  • Solid planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deliver results in uncertain or dynamic scenarios.
  • Experience working with suppliers, OEMs, or customers.
  • Knowledge of hydroelectric power plants.
  • Familiarity with Control Systems and Hydro Generators (electrical).
  • Passion for contributing to innovative solutions, cost-reduction initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is a plus.
