Country Sales Leader, GSI Japan
Job Description Summary
Reporting hierarchically to the GSI Commercial Leader APAC, the Country Sales Leader is responsible to lead and develop the GSI Sales across the JAPAN Region in coordination with the local Tendering and Project Execution teams.
In this role, you will lead the GSI Sales team in Japan, with which you are accountable for Sales Strategy Definition and Implementation, developing Customer Intimacy, Business Development, and Order Intake, while ensuring the strict application of GE Ethic, Compliance, and processes.
The Country Sales Leader, Japan has overall responsibility for executing GSI Japan operating plan as well as setting strategic direction to drive margin and top-line growth for HVDC, FACTS, ACS and Service opportunities.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Country's strategic business and operating plan by leading the team and determine customers' needs, solve problems through consultative approach and be responsible for delivering revenue and margin commitments.
- Identify key opportunistic areas for synergies and collaboration between GEV and customers from broader perspective.
- Pipeline identification, pipeline management and demand creation
- Develop influential relationships with assigned customers at all levels and develop strategies to win profitable business from those customers. Drives Customers' negotiation.
- Lead the country's financial roll up through short-medium- and long-term financial planning for JAPAN sales organization.
- Build knowledge of Japan's market economics, competitive issues, technologies and market opportunities.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, markets, sales processes or customers. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.
- Provide leadership, coaching and development for the team to attract, retain and build a talent pipeline.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or business from an accredited university
- Minimum 12 years of sales experience within the power industry
- Extensive and proven leadership experience within commercial.
- Experience in carrying out market assessments and subsequently developing and implementing relevant commercial strategies that facilitate market penetration.
- Excellent understanding of JAPAN economics with respect to regulatory structure and appreciation of social political dimension.
- Fluent in Japanese and English in speaking and writing
