The Site Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities adhere to the established quality standards and project specifications.
This role involves monitoring construction processes, conducting inspections and tests, and collaborating with project teams to resolve quality issues.
This position requires a proactive approach, ensuring all critical assemblies are validated before commencement and thoroughly reviewing all relevant instructions and technical documents before site mobilization.
The incumbent will ensure compliance with all technical requirements and engineering drawings during erection and commissioning phases.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager Construction & Commissioning to ensure implementation of quality plans and procedures.
- Control the distribution of documents, measurement devices, material traceability, and quality records.
- Manage Non-Conformance Management (NCM) registration and resolution.
- Produce inspection reports and maintain registers for instruments and welder qualifications.
- Supervise inspectors and inspection 3rd parties on site.
- Participate in audits and ensure subcontractors have calibrated instruments.
- Ensure all special processes are identified and staff properly qualified.
- Collect and organize quality records for the site quality book.
- Conduct project audits and monitor corrective actions.
- Manage non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Provide QA performance statistics and manage customer complaints.
Desired characteristics:
Graduated P. Eng in Mechanical (preferred) from accredited school.
From 1 to 5-year experience in heavy mechanical installation.
Safety mindset to work on a Construction site.
Candidate should have a good English level.
The position is based full-time on the Hydro Power Plant, located in the area of Niagara Falls, Ontario.
