Job Description

Reporting to the product line leader, the Product Manager will be supporting the development and execution of the DC Block/Battery Energy Storage product strategy for GE Vernova Solar and Storage Solutions. This includes the identification of new technologies, management of 3rd party DC blocks, and mutually aligned product roadmaps between 3rd party suppliers and with GE Vernova developed power electronics and battery energy storage systems solutions. In addition, the DC Block Product Manager will be responsible for lifecycle planning and obsolescence management, combined with effective demand forecasting, with a strong contribution to the overall business strategy.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development of customer and market backed business case(s) supporting new product development and/or feature additions
  • Accountable for successful development, competitiveness, and commercialization of GE Vernova Solar and Storage Solutions 3rd party battery energy storage systems.
  • The product manager demonstrates accountability for functional business and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, manage complex issues with functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Leads the business review process and ensures each function meets the deliverables and requirements defined in the applicable processes.
  • Tracks program progress and expenses and reports out to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for development and execution of a detailed cross functional execution plan that leads to success on all product CTQs as specified in the Product Requirements Document.
  • Understands industry trends, customer needs & growth opportunities for battery energy storage products.
  • Develop customer connections to link performance with customer expectation and demonstrates ownership of customer requirements.
  • Determine solutions using customer and market feedback to produce lifecycle strategies and develop value propositions.
  • Develop & optimize key supply chain relationships. Understand and implement cost management strategies. Own achieving the cost position for the product in the target regions.
  • Work with project management team to assure clear hand-off of new projects to their execution team.
  • Works with the commercial team, marketing, and regional leaders to successfully commercialize the product in the target regions.
  • Participate in the establishment of World-Class Product Management practices within GE Vernova.
  • Ensure consistent high-quality response to customers in terms of proposals completeness, turnaround time, cost competitiveness and comments & deviations to requirements.
  • Monitors and where needed improves performance of the installed base and identifies opportunities for service product developments.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or colleges.

Desired:

  • Experience in leading product management, product marketing and/or technical development, in a Power Electronics or related environment.
  • Experience in interacting with senior management and leading large virtual teams in multiple locations and time zones.
  • Analytical skill set & strategic min-set, ability to quickly move from details to the holistic view and vice versa.
  • Self-directed, collaborative tam player with interpersonal communication, & presentation skills
  • Confident with executive presentations, ability to communicate with colleagues & customers at all levels.
  • Commercially savvy, ability to translate customer needs into product offerings.
  • Natural leader with track record of "getting things done."
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of influencing and driving a strategic agenda. Strong oral & written communication skills.
  • Master's degree in engineering or business administration is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the disciplines and inter-relationship between product management and supply chain, engineering/technology, and related functions, costing systems, financial reporting measures.
  • Previous experience in product management practices and activities within GE, combined with strong customer knowledge and commercial awareness.
  • Strategically aware, coupled with tactical implementation experience. Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and explain critical issues.
  • Familiar with LEAN principles and a track record of implementation is preferred.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrix environment with strong relationship building capability, able to work effectively across functions.
