Job Description Summary

The Americas EHS Leader will lead and be responsible for a team of EHS professionals of both portfolio and site-based team members. Together you will support and work with cross functional leadership, customers and other third parties as necessary to provide technical EHS support and oversight on all GE, regulatory and industry requirements. Your leadership will be critical to ensure the successful implementation and execution of all EHS expectations for the distributed operations (projects and services) across the region. They will also provide input and support the wider Onshore Wind EHS team as we work to build one successful organization.
This role requires solid knowledge and experience of regulations applicable to field project and service operations and familiarity with GE products and customers and comprehensive background managing high risk activities in similar work environments.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of EHS professionals across the Americas region.
  • Provide oversight and governance to ensure EHS compliance with applicable management systems, programs, legislation and standards for distributed (projects and services) operations across the region.
  • Serves as an EHS expert for applicable regulatory and industry standard requirements for projects across the region.
  • Partner and develop positive working relationships with customers, external agencies and contractors as well as internal cross-functional personnel.
  • Provide oversight and governance to ensure EHS compliance with applicable management systems, programs legislation and standards for projects within the Americas.
  • Support ITO/OTR and handover or response to customer queries for projects across the Americas.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college or university, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years of significant EHS experience in a professional EHS role overseeing the execution of EHS in projects or services environment, leading a team of EHS resources

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel 40% of the time
  • Currently residing within North America.

  • Demonstrated achievements with safety programs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Deep domain expertise in multiple High-Risk Operations example; Electrical Safety/LOTO, crane safety, construction safety, fall prevention, confined space.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and drive change and interact cross-functionally
  • Medical fitness and ability to work at height per local and global standards
  • Able to coach and support key influencers to drive EHS compliance and the reduction of risk through team engagement and help develop an organizational culture that prioritizes EHS
  • Fluent English (verbally & in writing)
  • Certified Health and Safety professional
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Confidently able to facilitate and deliver training and or presentations to a diverse audience
  • Ability to influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
  • Trained to Global Wind Organization (GWO) standard
  • Demonstrated chemical management or industrial hygiene experience.
  • Additional language skills

The salary range for this position is $128,900 - $214,800 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this role has variable compensation incentive of 15%.
