We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Director, West Region, to join our Corporate Sales Team. This is an individual contributor role and will cover the West Region. This position will specifically target business for the student population (study abroad programs, etc.) and reports to the Vice President, Sales.
What You Will Do:
The Regional Sales Director is a senior, externally focused, sales professional responsible for driving new business growth and expanding GeoBlue's presence in the student health insurance market across the West region. This high-impact role focuses equally on collaboration with employee benefits brokers, direct sales to higher education institutions and partnerships with specialist student benefit brokers. You will bring a strong consultative approach, a track record of success in the education or health insurance space, and a passion for engaging with academic leaders and broker partners. You will play a key role in representing GeoBlue at industry events and conferences, sharing thought leadership and positioning the company as a trusted authority in international student health coverage. - Develop and execute a strategic regional business plan to drive revenue growth, strengthen market positioning, and align with national goals. Most of the sales planning will be externally focused on in-market activity
- Lead direct sales efforts to U.S. colleges and universities (where they do not utilize an intermediary), building long-term institutional partnerships and delivering tailored solutions for international student health coverage
- Generate new business through employee benefits brokers and specialist student health brokers, including cultivating new relationships, providing broker training and support, and driving joint prospecting activities
- Actively participate in key industry conferences, tradeshows, and association meetings (e.g., NAFSA, ACHA, URMIA) to share GeoBlue's expertise, deliver presentations, and generate demand through thought leadership
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline across all three sales channels and track all activities and performance metrics in Salesforce
- Collaborate with internal partners, Marketing, Underwriting, Client Management, and Operations, to develop compelling proposals, support renewals, and ensure successful client onboarding
- Communicate with the Product Team strong market intelligence by understanding product trends, detailed analysis of product competitiveness, competitor activity, and client feedback to continuously refine sales and product strategies
- Work closely with the Student Client Management team to support high client satisfaction and strong retention across the book of business
About you:
- You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus at least 5 years of experience in the healthcare, insurance, higher education, or assistance services industries
- You are a proven quota busting performer with success in selling through multiple distribution channels, including direct-to-institution and broker-driven models
- You have experience working with employee benefits brokers and/or student health-focused brokerage firms preferred
- You bring executive presence and strong communication skills for client meetings and industry event presentations
- You have mastered negotiation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking ability
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms, Salesforce preferred
- You are successful because you are a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a remote territory
- We will ask you to travel within the territory regularly as well as travel to the King of Prussia, PA corporate office at least four times per year for face-to-face collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams
